About Us
Sjoa River Festival is a grassroots kayaking event and a highlight of the Norwegian summer paddling season since 1997. Hosted by Strie Strømmer with support from dedicated volunteers, it brings together paddlers from across Norway and beyond.
The festival takes place in the Heidal Valley, centred around the Strie Strømmer kayak shop, in one of the world’s premier whitewater destinations. Along the banks of the Sjoa, participants share local knowledge, water levels, and explore the best runs—enjoying plenty of “liquid sunshine” in the Norwegian canyons.
